If you look at Google’s AdSense program, you’re probably wondering how much you could make with such a program, and you’re probably thinking that you can’t make as much as you can with traditional advertising systems.

How much money will I make with Adsense?
Adsense

Google, of course, keeps a lot of secrecy about how much AdWords advertisers pay for each click directed to their site, and the same goes for how much AdSense banner holders earn on their websites.

Although there is nothing official, there are rumors circulating on the internet about how much money a website can make using AdSense. And many people (illegally) reveal how much they have made with AdSense. There are stories of people collecting over a thousand dollars per month using AdSense.

There are also stories of people exceeding $100,000 per month, but it is a bit hard to believe such stories. The truth is that if you have a small website and you just want it to support itself, and you do not want to reach into your pocket for its maintenance costs, you can probably do it with AdSense.

AdSense is also great for individuals who manage a large number of pages. Even if said pages do not generate a lot of traffic individually, every click counts and you can make a lot of money doing so. And this proves that sometimes, quantity matters almost as much as quality.

There’s no way to know how much money you’ll make using Google AdSense, but you can kind of tell for yourself before you start by taking a few things into consideration.

First, there’s the number of visits you get each day. While there’s no way to accurately estimate this, you can generally assume that if you get a lot of clicks per day, you’ll make a lot of money.

Also, it depends on the exact subject of your site. If your site is about something popular (music, sex, whatever), you’re bound to get a lot of clicks on banners. These are associated with a coefficient, called CTR (click through ratio).

Basically, this translates to the fact that if a large portion of your site visitors click on the ads, you’ll make more money. And the best way to do this is to have popular content on your site, making sure that the links also direct users to popular articles.

Then of course there is the position and number of ads on your website. Although you don't want to go overboard, having a high number of links will certainly help you generate more revenue as a website owner. Don’t think though that if you just add a lot of ads in a prominent part of your site that visitors will always ignore them (and rest assured, many do).

There is something between an art and a science to the positioning of your ads. People generally look in certain places and never look in others, and knowing this, there are many things a website author and/or webmaster can do to increase their AdSense revenue.

Overall, the amount of money you make with AdSense depends on many factors. But if you have a site with great content and/or lots of pages, and you see consistently high traffic every day, you can bet that you will make a lot of money with AdSense.

Even if you don’t fall into the above categories, AdSense is still worth using because there is very little hassle to set up, and many times it can help support the site financially, as well as being a nice bonus to finish the post at the end of the month.
